AI Billing

Compare AI billing platforms

Fair, honest comparisons of usage-based billing infrastructure for AI products. Updated May 2026.

Why this site exists

AI billing breaks the assumptions traditional SaaS billing was built on. Every API call carries direct infrastructure cost. Concurrent requests create races against the customer's balance. Margins shift every time you change models. Cycle-end invoicing was designed for predictable per-seat costs, not per-inference workloads.

Invoice-based billing predates AI products. It came from enterprise SaaS and was adapted to fit AI workloads. The genuine architectural response to AI's real-time cost structure was something different: pre-funded customer balances, authorization before the inference runs, and immediate debit when it completes. Both approaches work for AI products today and each makes different trade-offs. This site compares them across the same rubric.
